iPhone, iPad and Android apps
Songstead has free apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. They're the same Songstead you use in a web browser, with the same account, songs, sets and settings, so you can switch between your phone, your tablet and your computer whenever you like.
Get the app
- iPhone and iPad: Songstead on the App Store
- Android phones and tablets: Songstead on Google Play
Open the app and sign in with the same email address and password you use on the web. If you don't have an account yet, you can make one from the app. See Create an account.
On a computer, use Songstead in any up-to-date web browser at my.songstead.app.
Everything stays in sync
A song you add on your computer is on your tablet the next time you open it, and a key you change on your phone is changed everywhere. There's nothing to copy or back up between devices.
Your display settings, like text size, chord names and theme, follow you too. That's handy when you set things up once on a big screen.
Always up to date
The apps load Songstead from the internet, so they're always on the newest version. There are no updates to wait for, and every new feature arrives in the apps the moment it arrives on the web.
Songstead opens without a connection once you've used it online, but it needs one to load your library. If you open the app offline, it tells you it can't connect and finishes loading as soon as you're back online.
Downloads and recordings
- Downloading a PDF or chart saves it to your Downloads folder on Android. On iPhone and iPad, it opens the share sheet, so you can save it to Files, print it, or send it on. See Exporting and printing.
- Recording an audio note on a chart asks for permission to use the microphone the first time. See Annotations.
Plans in the apps
The apps show your plan, but you can't buy or change a plan inside them. Plans are bought on the web at my.songstead.app, and a plan you buy there works in the apps straight away.
When you select something in the app that needs a paid plan, Songstead explains what the plan includes and how to get it on the web. See Plans and limits and Billing and payments.
Foot pedals on a tablet
Bluetooth page-turner pedals work with the apps the same way they work in a browser. Pair the pedal in your device's Bluetooth settings, then open Live Mode. See Foot pedals and shortcuts.
