Import your library

You don't have to type your library in again! One file out of your old app brings your songs and sets across in one go.

Before you start

Export a backup out of your old app. OnSong and SongbookPro are supported by default.

Loose charts work too. Hand Songstead a folder, a ZIP archive or an individual file to import other content.

Open Library

Library is listed on the left side of the app, under Account.

The Songs screen, with the navigation down the left side collapsed to icons and the Library one, below Account, highlighted.

Add your files

Select Choose Files and pick the backup you exported.

The Library screen on its Import tab, showing a dashed drop zone with the Choose Files button highlighted inside it.

Check what was found

Songstead reads and analyzes the backup. If the summary looks correct, select Next to continue.

The first step of the import wizard, showing counts of 5 songs, 2 sets, 3 files and 0 unsupported files, with "SongbookPro content detected" underneath and the Next button highlighted.

Review the list of songs and sets and remove anything you'd rather not import at this time.

Select Next to do one final review.

The Select Content step of the import wizard: a table of five songs and two sets, each row with a checkbox, and a Files column marking the songs that brought a file with them, marked in green as a Backstage feature. Three of the songs are unchecked, and the Next button is highlighted.

Imported songs with attached media require Backstage or the files will be ignored.

Requires Backstage

Run the import

Select Start Import, then leave the page open while it runs. The import may take a few minutes if you have lots of attachments.

The Import step of the import wizard, showing what is about to be imported and the highlighted Start Import button.

You're done!

Your songs and sets are now in your library. You can add more songs by hand whenever you like.

The finished import, showing a green notice reading "Imported 2 songs, 2 sets, and 0 files." above a Go to Songs button.
