These terms govern your use of Songstead. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. We've tried to keep this in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.
Songstead is a tool for managing chord charts, setlists, and shared music libraries. You can use it on your own or as part of a group with bandmates, a team, or students. You're responsible for the content you add and for keeping your account credentials secure.
You need an account to use Songstead. You must provide accurate information when you sign up, and you're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
You keep ownership of the songs, chord charts, sets, and other content you create in Songstead. By adding content to the app, you grant us a license to store, display, and process it solely to operate the service for you and anyone you share it with.
You're responsible for having the right to use and share any content you add, including chord charts or lyrics for songs you didn't write.
Groups are a core part of the app. Content you share into a group becomes visible to the members of that group according to their role. This is expected behavior, not a bug — it's how the sharing feature works, and it's also described in our Privacy Policy.
Songstead currently offers a free plan. We plan to introduce paid tiers ("Backstage" and "Harmony") in the future. If you subscribe to a paid plan, additional terms covering billing, renewals, and cancellation will apply at that time. Joining a group will always be free — a paid plan is only required to create one, once paid tiers launch.
You agree not to:
Songstead is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We're a small, early-stage project, and we don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.
To the extent permitted by law, Songstead isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data or content.
You can stop using Songstead and delete your account at any time by emailing contact@songstead.app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
If these terms change in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We'd rather be straightforward with you than bury changes in fine print.
